Here we are, at the end of October, and the end of my 31 Days of Self-Care series. I hope
that you enjoyed it!
It was certainly interesting to write. I wasn’t entirely sure how the series would
end up. Actually, in the middle of the
month I wondered if I would be able to complete it at all!
I realize there were several days this month that I ended up
not posting about self-care, but that was OK. Writing about self-care gave me the ability
to say “no” when I needed to. And there were plenty of times this month where I had to say no to my blog!
At the beginning of October, I wrote about how this wasn’t going to be a “how-to” but more of telling my own journey to self-care. I hope that I was able to give you all some good tips that you can use in your own life.
My biggest takeaways were to be present with everything going on in my life, but also I need to make the time to take care of myself. If I don’t take that time, I will not be happy, and I won’t be the best person I can be for my family and my community.
I also finally accepted that it is definitely OK to splurge once in a while – something I have trouble doing. There always seems to be something more important to spend my money on rather than myself (like my kids).
Have you been able to create a habit out of self-care this month? Have you changed your morning routine to allow you a little time for self-care, or perhaps a less harried morning?
